Electric and hydrogen cars NO longer enter the ZTL for free: a paid annual permit is required (up to ~€1,000). Plate registration alone will only cover free parking in paid zones.

How to avoid ZTL fines in Rome
Rome's ZTL (Limited Traffic Zone) covers the historic center, Trastevere and Tridente with different hours per sector. A fine starts at around €100 and can reach you months later.
- ALWAYS check the sector's active hours before driving in: they vary by weekday, weekend and summer schedule.
- Gates are automatic cameras — there's no barrier, but the fine is issued anyway.
- If you're in a rental car, the fine is charged to the rental company's card with an extra fee.

Come uso la mappa offline?
- Premi Scarica qui sopra mentre hai connessione: l'app salva mappa, 7 settori e tutti i varchi nella memoria del browser (non scarica nessun file nella cartella Download).
- Aggiungi il sito alla schermata Home: su iPhone apri Safari → tasto Condividi → Aggiungi a Home. Su Android apri Chrome → menù ⋮ → Aggiungi a schermata Home.
- Quando sei senza rete, apri l'icona dalla Home (o riapri il sito da segnalibro) e vai su /ztl: vedi mappa, settori e varchi esattamente come online.
- Per aggiornare i dati (varchi nuovi, orari modificati) ripremi Aggiorna quando torni online.
