About us

Essential City Info is an independent project built to help tourists and residents navigate Rome with essential, verified, geolocated information: public toilets, drinking water fountains, ATMs, real-time ZTL, on-duty pharmacies, transit, health and emergencies.

The site is designed to be fast, mobile-readable and usable even on slow connections. It's available in Italian, English and Spanish.

Our mission

Save you time and fines. The information you find here is what you'd want to have when you're out in Rome and need to make a quick decision.

Who's behind it

The site is built and maintained by Roberto Galati, a developer based in Italy. Premium content payments are handled by Paddle.com Market Limited (Merchant of Record).

Data sources

We combine official data (Roma Servizi per la Mobilità, ATAC, MIT, ARPA Lazio, Civil Protection, Federfarma Roma, Roma Capitale, Open-Meteo) with OpenStreetMap and Wikipedia. Automated updates via cron jobs: each dataset has a declared frequency and traceable source on the Data Sources page. User-reported errors via /contact are verified and corrected within 72 hours.
